Rodeo Celina honors the Western and cowboy heritage that has shaped North Texas for generations. Celina’s ranching and agricultural foundation dates back to the 1870’s, when the area was made up of farms and ranches steeped in the western cowboy heritage we value to this day. Our rodeo roots trace back to the late 1960s and 1970s, when the Celina Riding Club hosted monthly “Playdays” that brought families together for friendly competition, horsemanship, and community fellowship. Although those early events eventually faded as the town grew, the values behind them — hard work, tradition, and respect for the Western way of life — never left the community.

That legacy was proudly revived in 2024 with the founding of Rodeo Celina, now the first PRCA-sanctioned rodeo in Collin County. Built originally by Celina Chamber of Commerce, local leaders, volunteers, and supporters, Rodeo Celina delivers professional rodeo competition while supporting agritourism, local agriculture, and youth programs such as local FFA. Rooted in Celina and welcoming the broader North Texas equine and cowboy communities, Rodeo Celina is committed to preserving Western heritage, strengthening regional ties, and providing an authentic, family-friendly PRCA rodeo experience for generations to come.
